Can I still study in the UK if my Bsc in Psychology degree is non-BPS accredited?

Hi,
I am currently enrolled in a BSc Psychology online programme by University of London with academic direction by King’s College London, at a recognised teaching centre in my country which is approved by UoL. Even though my degree is recognized, I found out that it is not BPS accredited. Would I be able to pursue my higher studies in the UK if I was planning on doing something related to Early Childhood Education?

It depends on the courses you're applying to. A good marker could be whether they consider people with non-psychology undergrads, who obviously won't be BPS accredited. So eg the MSc I did was run by the psychology department but had a couple of people who'd studied education. If you want to do eg the clinical or educational psychology doctorates though they'll be a lot stricter.

If you're not sure from the admissions criteria on the websites, contact the unis you're considering and ask. The worst they can say is no, and at least then you've not wasted your time applying! You could also talk to your tutors where you currently are to see if they have any advice.

I believe you will have to do what called a one year conversion course. Then you are good to go. I am planning to enrol for the same course this year. But the one that’s fully online and BPS approved is 19K a year and not sure how that works since UK Student loan only covers up to 9500 full time tuition fee a year. I was thinking to apply for a maintenance loan and cover the rest from that. Also which year are you and how do you find the course, if you don’t mind me asking? The other Uni I was looking at the same course online is Arden and there is only like 6K a year for the same course. But I want to go into clinical psychology after with Kings College so I was wondering if doing Bsc would increase my chances to get into the DClinPsy?!

You could specialise in Child or educational Psychology and work at a school or nursery after.
