Is it worth applying to LSE?

Guys do you think it will be worth applying to LSE , if my GCSEs are 777766654 . Also I do a BTEC so one of my subjects are in the non preferred area ….

It depends on the course. For competitive courses, LSE would expect applicants to have several grades 7-9 at GCSE. You may also have trouble with your level 3 qualifications, as certain courses may not accept a mix of A levels and BTECs. Check the course requirements, but if they don’t accept BTECs, you would likely be rejected. The same goes for GCSEs - if you don’t meet their minimum GCSE requirements, you would likely be rejected.

Its for BSc Environment and Sustainability Development with Economics . They do Allow BTECs if its with 2 preferred subjects ( which i do ) but yeah the gcse part is what kinda stresses me out

Also im pretty sure i went to a disadvantage school so would that play into part perhaps ???

You have 5 uni choices so no harm in applying. Just make sure your personal statement is good

Applying post A-Level with your certificates gained would be preferable.

Also, the LSE 'scrutinise' the UCAS Personal Statement closely, so a 'stellar' UCAS Personal Statement is expected from you to gain an offer.

I wonder which A-Level subjects you're studying and is the BTech in Business? 😧

My cousin who has just completed his master's at Edinburgh,went to LSE for his first degree with only BTECs however I am not sure if you can have a mixture of A levels and BTECs

That's great. A-Levels in Maths and Economics would have to be at AA at least or A*A or more. But you could self-teach A-Level Further Maths with Edexcel and do FM1 and FD1 papers as the optional papers perhaps? 😉

probably not (from an lse student), save your choice and apply elsewhere
