KES vs Stratford girls grammar

I have just received my gcse results and have been offered places at KES and Stratford girls, I’m not sure which to choose as KES is supposed to be one of the best state schools in the country and being accepted is very hard, where as Stratford girls is slightly easier to be accepted into but I liked the manor and environment at the transition days and open evenings. Before results day I originally had my heart set on going to Stratford girls as I thought I would never get offered a place at KES. Has anyone got any advice because I’m really stuck!!?!

Hi, are you happy at Shottery? And how are you finding the music there? My daughter may have a similar decision to make. Thank you

Hello, shottery is honestly amazing and I’m so glad I decided to go there! The teachers are incredibly supportive and make lessons really challenging and enjoyable. There’s also such a great sense of community amongst the sixth form students especially in lessons.
A Level music and the music department are superb, the music teachers are so organised, make lessons really fun and teach things in a really memorable way. The music classes tend to be quite small (there’s only 3 in my class) which is actually really nice as you get a lot of one to one support from the teachers and become close with the other girls in your class. Outside of lessons there are a wide range of bands, orchestras and choirs you can get involved with and lots of performances throughout the year.
In addition, the sixth form team are so supportive, since joining the school they have given me so much help and guidance and have really made all the external students feel welcome.
Please let me know if you have anymore questions about the school or a level music I’m more than happy to answer them and good luck with making your decision!
