What subjects are epqs good for
i wanna get into engineering and im wondering if epq would be good for that

A levels are what will get you into Uni for Engineering. An EPQ is 'nice to have' but not essential. It will give you an 'in-depth' topic to use for your Personal Statement, and give you experience of researching a topic beyond basic A level work. But it will not matter to any Uni if you have not done one. Your 3 A level grades are what matters, and it doing an EPQ on top feels like it could be too distracting, don't do it.

What subjects are epqs good for - my frank answer is NONE.
However EPQ trains your mindset into a research methodology approach to stuffs (in the case of STEM) rather than being spoon-fed info from teachers.
I did and completed an independent project in medicine related aspect, had learnt a lot through this past year, ie my yr 12. No doubt plenty to talk about during interviews at unis.
