should i try to get my maths remarked?

hi everyone,, before you all come at me yes i know past is the past but i want to your honest opinions,, i was 5 marks off to get a 9 which is disappointing for me because i knew where i lost them easy marks on paper 1! i made such silly mistakes on paper 1 which ultimately costed me a grade (i got a grade 8 on paper 1 and grade 9 on the other two)
i just keep having bad dreams and not being able to sleep yesterday because i just felt guilty for myself for being put in the exam pressure and not being prepped enough the day before (by what i mean by this, i mean that i thought i knew the revision but some stuff camed up on the exam and i completely forgot to revise for them even though i did i just didn’t do my last min rev)
has anyone actually got their maths remarked and got a grade higher? is it possible that examiners might have made errors in their markings or is that not likely ☹️ i really really want that grade 9 bc i worked SO hard in the past 2 years and to just see that ruined bc of my paper 1…
thank you

Unless it affects your next step i wouldn't bother GCSE's really don't matter too much past the point of getting into college or whatever your future looks like. Really nobody cares past result's day.

I feel you. I too was predicted 9 and messed up paper 1 badly ( didn’t check answers ) and was kinda stuffy in paper 2 to the point I only came out with a high 7. You got a strong 8 which is the same as a grade 9 in terms of unis and jobs even. Don’t stress and just make sure you don’t make the same mistake in a levels

I also feel like 5 marks in maths especially is a very big gamble to whether you would get it. If it was 1 mark I reckon there would be a decent 50% chance but the mark schemes are very objective and less subjective .

If your school offers to pay for it then sure why not, but otherwise absolutely not. Maths is so mark scheme specific that it’s almost impossible to pick up 5 marks, not worth wasting money considering how expensive a remark is. Even in more subjective subjects like English, picking up a mark or two is so difficult let alone 5.
