I’m considering withdrawing from university as I have an academic misconduct case going on and might be expelled. If I withdraw right now will my credits stay and will I be able to transfer to a different university to finish off my final year?
Hi, I’m considering withdrawing from university as I have an academic misconduct case going on and might be expelled. If I withdraw right now will my credits stay and will I be able to transfer to a different university to finish off my final year?
Hi,
Pending on the level of academic misconduct this could be listed on a transcript of results so check what your current University's policy is on this.
You will keep all the credits that are not effected by the misconduct. For a certificate of higher education you need 120 credits passed. For a diploma of higher education you would need 240 credits. Check with the programme team regarding what exit awards are available.
Regarding using credits elsewhere, this depends on the programme of study you go to and what level the current credits are. Most Unis will allow some form of recognition of prior learning but this is something you should speak to your new university about.
