Max vs A-levels: a STEM focused GYG

First day!
WOW that was so overwhelming.... The teachers are going hard on the fearmongering around the big step up so that's vaguely terrifying but oh well! My timetable is one of the weirdest I've ever seen bc I only have 1?? lesson on a Monday and 2?? on a Tuesday and I cant even leave the school which is pretty annoying.
No homework as of yet but I have been promised some for the weekend which is quite nice tbh - I never had any in the lower school.
Current feeling - relaxed but suspicous

I got my timetable yesterday and I agree sixth form timetables can be super weird. Some days I have one lesson, some 2 and once every 2 weeks i have 3 (my school has 3 lessons per day usually). Glad you had a decent first day! What subjects have you had so far?

It's so bizarre ik! One of my friends has 13 frees a week - keep in mind we have 5 lessons a day - that's insane!
So far I've had DT and maths, both of which I really enjoyed and then I have the exact same tommorow again so it's lucky i enjoy them...

I plan to do all my homework in them and also my school does some enrichment so that’s one per week ig, also ill do epq stuff probably. Im allowed to leave but to be honest I dont really see the point as i live 25 mins away and I have to be there at the start and end of each day anyhow!

I only have 2 frees a week

That's a very good idea actually! My other plan was just going to be to try and get leave to go the gym with a guy I know has the same schedule as me but idk yet - it really depends if I can cope or not 🤷

Why so few? That's unusual in my school unless you're doing 5 a levels

we have 10 lessons of each subject per fortnight as well as supervised study sessions leaving us with only 2 frees a week

Whatttt we had 10 of each per fortnight and 4 supervised study sessions and I still had loads of frees!

Homework - finish the first 3 pages of my DT coursework (going to do it in Monday's frees)
Have hockey tommorow and then I'm going to go shopping to pick up some more school supplies - that they didn't tell me i needed!

✨Weekend plan✨
Won the hockey match! And I have bought 2 more folders for maths and physics and packs of paper for it as well 😭 - I'm still sour about them not telling me about what i needed before.
So today I am going to tidy my room, label all my folders, find the dividers I need (that are somewhere in my home) and put all of the work I did this week away
