Should I retake my gcses.

Hi, I got low gcses, but at the time I was groomed into a relationship with a much older perosn online. Even leading up to my examshad severe poor mental health (even suicidal at times) and on the night before p2 physics family found out about the relationship , I was very upset and was getting severe blame for what occurred to the point I couldn't think. I also had to wait up all night for the police to come and take a statement. Should I resit my maths and English this November and do sciences in summer. I am worried about my gcse grades affecting my university choices I want to go to a very good uni. Would it be too much with the workload of a levels . I'm doing politics and gov history and psychology. For a levels. I know I can explain when applying to univeristy the context of my gcses but I'm still very worried espically since I go to a grammar school where many people if not most get 7 8 9s

7- business history
6-english lang and lit. Maths biology media
5 physics and chemistry

Resitting all of them would be a stretch and probably detrimental to your A-Levels.

i just checked. you can still apply for special consideration, they may boost your grades for you so you don’t have to resit

The situation only came to light to my parents and the school the night before my exams

That is exactly the circumstance the school should be telling the exam board.

Your grades are still good, most unis want a grade 6 in English and maths

I wouldnt bother resitting, you have the minimum most unis require, so unless you're applying to a super top uni, or a super competitive course, it probably doesnt matter
