Hi there,

What is the doctors letter for? Is it to apply for Compelling Personal Reasons? Is it for the 2024/25 academic year?

Thanks, Drew

Thanks so much, would i also have to drop out of current university before applying for finance for the new course, or does it not make much difference?

Hi unsweetenedblue,

Yes, you would need to leave your previous course before applying for a new course. You cannot get funding for two courses at the same time.

Thanks,
Calum

Thanks so much so far, processing my withdrawal from current uni is taking up to 4 weeks, surely it would still be okay to apply for finance now for new uni alongside letters and supporting evidence?

Hi there ,

If your application doesn't show yet as withdrawn, you can still apply, but you would need to do this one paper application. If you applied now while its now withdrawn, the system will think you're a continuing student when you will be classed as a new student. You can find the application on the website here https://www.gov.uk/student-finance-forms

The application will need to be posted to us, the address is on the form. You can send this together with your evidence and cover letter.

Thanks,
Claire

Hi there,

Do you mean you have an overpayment for the Maintenance Loan or do you mean the Tuition Fee Loan?

Thanks, Drew
