resitting a levels for medicine, but may have extenuating circumstances?

I recently received my a level results and achieved ABD in psychology, biology and chemistry respectively after being predicted A*AA.
I feel confident after resits I will be able to meet my predicted grades as I had a very hard time during the middle of my exams (around chemistry paper 2) onwards and wasn't able to perform to my best potential. I have PCOS and in times of stress my menstrual cycle is either absent or very heavy, and unfortunately during exams it was very heavy, painful and uncomfortable and lasted for around 3 weeks. Alongside this I had the normal effects of a prolonged period, such as weakness, heart palpitations and fatigue. While I don't want to blame my exam performance on this i can't deny that going through this diverted my concentration from my papers. Due to my grades, i missed out on an offer for medicine from QMUL, and I really wanted to attend there. I was wondering if this would count as extenuating circumstances as QMUL don't accept resits from reapplicants without extenuating circumstances?
Any help and advice would be appreciated!

So sorry you had to go through that during your a-levels it must have been really frustrating for you.
Have you tried communicating with them about letting you in this year anyway due to extenuating circumstances? It sounds like what you were going through really did contribute to your lower grades. If not I’ve heard about queen mary doing medicine apprenticeships where you can then do a conversion course to medicine - could that be an option?
While QMUL might be iffy about resits there are also other med schools that might allow them, so might be worth resitting them and reapplying next year anyway.
Best of luck for everything i’m sure this won’t be the end of the road!

Do try getting a medical note and also ask your dr whether you should take the pill for your resits so you don’t have a period. Start maybe a month or 2 before so you are used to it. So sorry you’ve had to deal with such debilitating periods. Men have no clue ! Nor do many women. All the best.
