Should I study Law, Criminology, Sociology or English Lit & Lang (I can only pick 3!)

Hey everyone!

I'm wondering which subjects to pick for A Level, out of the ones I have listed! I am feeling pressured to pick Law, Criminology and English because my family is saying that they work the best together, but I have really had my heart set on doing Sociology, ever since I have seen it in my sixth form! What should I do? Everyone might be angry at me if I switch and I have had to submit the subjects already! I think I can still replace any subject I want though!
I would recommend sociology, combined english and law.
Criminology is not an a level, it is an applied extended diploma which could disadvantage you in the future depending on what you want to do- look at uni requirements for what you want to do for example and see if they’ll accept you without 3 a levels. Im not very knowledgeable on how unis think of extended diplomas so check this but taking 3 a levels might be a better bet
Also criminology is a branch of sociology. And the criminology thing is being scrapped next year so if you take it you’ll be the last year group to do so if that’s any indication of its prevalence in education.
It’s none of your families business which you choose, its 2 years of your life, not theirs and it’s ultimately your decision because your choice now could have an impact on your options in the future. Make the decision that feels right for YOU!
With switching your option, contact your sixth form and get it switched if you want to change courses, hopefully they still have a place open without a clash for you to take 🙂 I wish you the best of luck with starting year 12!
As above, criminology is not an A-level and may not be considered as equivalent to an A-level by universities. So if your goal is to apply to university I'd recommend just taking the 3 A-level subjects.

Thank you so much for the advice! I hope to do university online! I am quite worried about taking english as an A- level bc I looked at a past paper and I didn't understand the questions omg, like one question said to recast the information, like whaaattt!
