If you used Clearing in 2024, how did you find it?

advice for year 11 !!!

hi so im considering some colleges like HWSC , woodhouse college and LAET. im not sure if i can meet the requirements with my mock results

english lang & lit:7
science:9-9
maths:8
history:8
business:6
sociology:5
french:3

im so divided on what to pick like im veryyyyy interested in medicine specifically radiography and pharmacy and i know ill have to pick bio and chem but some of the schools require 4 a levels ???!?!?! should i add maths or economics . i just wanna achieve higher grades and want to pick the one that is somewhat easier and i also have this same dilemma between psychology and sociology. can someone anyone plsssss look at my results and based off of those help me decide which one to pick as in which ever ones i would excel in.

Based off youre results alone:
You seem to do exceptionally well in science, maths and history. Your grades in English and business are a little lower but still very impressive. Sociology is a strong pass and french is not currently a pass. From this: sciences would be a good option, as would maths, some essay based subjects. Unsure of whether sociology is a good idea from this alone as a 5 it’s especially high considering some of your other grades.
As some of the sixths you might apply to expect you to take 4 (not uncommon- sometimes its just for year 12 but not always so maybe check this) and you want to keep routes in medicine and healthcare open taking biology and chemistry seems like a great choice if you can keep up your fantastic standard in science.
For maths vs economics:
To be honest it doesn’t really matter than much in terms of uni requirements so take whichever subject is more appealing to your interests and you think will be easier for you to succeed in. To investigate this i would suggest looking at the specs for each subject, watching some YouTube videos from students who’ve taken each and looking at some past exam papers to see whether the questions look interesting and fit your strengths in exams.
For psychology vs sociology:
I would be tempted to suggest psychology (again look at the stuff above i suggested to investigate if you think you’ll like it) because whilst its an essay subject its a little more scientific and youre very good at sciences as well as history so it might be a good choice for you. Also it links to stuff in healthcare and goes well with biology to open lots of options in the field of psychology and related degrees. Whereas, as youre getting a 5 in sociology at the moment (which is a good grade but lower than some of your other grades) i would suggest doing psychology if you think you’ll enjoy it.
