The Student Room Group

Help! I want to change my choice at university after confirming my place elsewhere.

So to start it all off, I was offered an unconditional offer at Bournemouth University in January of this year (I took a gap year) and it is now August the 25th, meaning clearing is well underway. This means that many other universities have dropped their course entrance requirements and I now have decided I want to change my university choice to Nottingham Trent, as it offers a much stronger course with more affordable living costs. I have already agreed my tenancy contract and paid the deposit for my accommodation in Bournemouth, and my student finance relative to my place in Bournemouth Uni has been informed to me. I was wondering if this all means its too late to switch? If not, could I get any advice on the uni transferring process. Where do I start?

Cheers,
Joe

You will have to find someone at Bournemouth that’s willing to replace you as a tenant. Join Facebook group chats and forums and advertise the room!

Then here at Nottingham you can contact me as I have two rooms available. Private en-suite accommodations!

Contact the NTU clearing line above and see if you can get an offer without letting go of your existing place. If so, it's just down to sorting out accomodation but bear in mind you might struggle to find somewhere even if you do sort out a replacement tennant on your previous contract.

Have a good think about whether you'd take a year out to go to NTU, or if Bournemouth this year would be the best option despite the costs.
