How the GCSE resit affects admission to Medicine schools

My daughter is planning to resit GCSE science to meet the expected Grade for medicine. Parallelly, she is studying A level but not science subjects. After resitting GCSE, she will discontinue the current A level course and restart year 12 in science subjects. Will it cause any issue in applying in Medicine schools ?
In UCL they have mentioned as "Otherwise, we do not accept qualification re-sits, including re-starting Year 12". Please explain what does this statement actually mean.

Some medical schools don’t require science subjects, they just want the good grades, and some accept gcse resits. Hull York medical school accepts GCSE resits, and Keele accept any A-levels. Hopefully there is a med school which accepts both. The most competitive ones like oxbridge, ucl, imperial and Edinburgh probably won’t accept either because of how competitive they are. Try looking at slightly newer med schools like Bangor and Keele. I hope this helps 🙂
