Are tech and other graduate schemes at banks as competitive as IB?

hey so im doing a software engineering degree, but was thinking of going into data analytics

i saw some potential grad schemes for this at like barclays and lloyds bank and was wondering, since these were banks, if the "non IB' schemes have targets like IB? i go to a uni of leicester so idk if that is a disadvantage at all for these schemes..or other schemes like the health informatics one in the nhs

also, does IB refer to the type of job in a bank or is it just like a position in the bank?
