British citizen living abroad postgraduate loan eligibility

Hi, I'm a British citizen with British parents. I've been living in Korea for the past year and wish to study for a distance MA, however, I was wondering if anyone can clarify two things for me. Number one - it says I have to be in the UK for the first day of my academic course. Does it count if I theoretically returned to the UK for a few days and then returned to Korea? Number two - do I have to reside in the UK? It says EU citizens or non-EU citizens must but it makes no mention of UK citizens as far as I can see.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Hi Tom,

You would need to live in the UK for the duration of your course. You cannot come back to the UK to start the course then move back to Korea to continue the course.

Thanks, Drew

Thank you, Drew, that answers my question! I guess I might as well pay out my pocket and live out East rather than live in England for 2-and-half years!
