Aqa psychology how to write hypothesis Directional/ Non directional

In the past on 3 markers I’ve achieved 1/3 marks and wanted to know how to achieve 3/3 marks when writing a Directional or a Non directional hypothesis

i always tend to follow this format:

non directional example: there will be a significant difference in activity levels between ppts who drink caffeine and ppts who do not drink caffeine

directional example: ppts who drink caffeine will have significantly higher activity levels than ppts who do not drink caffeine

include both variables (IV and DV)

state whether or not there is a difference

non directional - the hypothesis must state that a difference is expected but it doesn't predict the direction

directional - the hypothesis must specify the expected direction

remember to operationalise the variables as well if you are using your own (make them measurable)
