Heyyy
Little mid week update because why not:lol:
So I started sixth form on Wednesday which is interesting. I have quite a few friends from my old school which is quite nice but most of the internal students just keep to themselves unless we're forced to talk in a group discussion in class. I'm the ONLY GIRL in my form which is very sad but we have assemblies most days so I won't be alone for too long everyday. Yesterday I was actually so tired after just half the day but by today my body was kinda back into the routine of school. I've figured out most of the school because it's quite a simple layout but I got lost twice trying to get to my afternoon lesson today because it was downstairs.
Also why are we getting TWO massive textbooks for EACH subject 😭 like my shoulders are so dead alreadyyy. AHH I'M SO HAPPY BC I LOVE THE UNIFORM SO MUCH it makes me feel so professional and cool and cute and omggg I'm so obsessed with it. I spoke with this year 8 who gets my bus and said that out of my 8 teachers: 5 are good, 2 I am cooked with, 1 he's never had. Also it was so funny when he first saw me in the corridor he stopped and was like WOAHHH which was so funny but yeah
I hope everyone is enjoying the new school year xx

Im so glad you're enjoying it hun! <3
Im struggling with one of my teachers bc i had such an awful time with him in the lower school - but we'll just have to deal with it
Also one of the year 7s cam up to me and asked me something and it took me so long to realise that i actually knew him as well 😭

I hope it does too but luckily he's not the only physics teacher and the others are really good so I'm ok
It's definitely a good reason to change schools now tho xx

Do you have two teachers for all of your subjects

Do you have two teachers for all of your subjects

At least!
I have 2 for maths, further maths and DT and I actually have 3 for physics - good bc that's where the teacher I struggle with is

Heyyy
This is just gonna be a bit about me for those of you who are new here 🩶
I got two 9s, six 8s, three 7s and one 6 at GCSE and did maths, english language, english literature, biology, chemistry, physcis, spanish, geography, food tech, computing, RS and further maths. If anyone needs help in any of those subjects lmk and I'll try to help xx
I am going to do: Biology (AQA), Chemistry (Edexcel), Geography (Edexcel) and Maths (Edexcel) for A Levels so if anyone has any tips for these subjects please tell me. I'm so scared
I currently want to study food science at uni so I might do an EPQ as well - I'm going to see how I find 4 A Levels then decide if I want to drop one/continue/add an EPQ
I am going to a different school for sixth form (all girls grammar to an all boys grammar) which will be different and exciting and petrifying. I will try to post regularly but I'm not gonna stick to a rigid schedule bc I will 100% not follow it.

Your GCSEs are so good!! Pretty much the same as mine except you got an 8 instead of a 6! Good luck doing 4 A-Levels! I think within a few weeks you'll realise that 4 is a lot and to fit in an EPQ aswell would mean you have pretty much 0 social life 😭

Heyyy
I've been really trying to motor the last few days and I've managed to do all 4 essays, answer all the questions, complete the maths booklet and most of the chemsitry booklet.
I jsut have the calculations section and some other random questions left for chemistry so hopefully I can get that done soon
It's really sinking in now that I'm starting sixth form this week at an all boys school which is so scary - what actually possessed me to think that this would be a good change 😭. I've got my uniform and restocked my pencil case so I'm feeling kinda ready but it's just so scary. My friend literally started school today so I'm really glad I have the extra few days to mentally prepare myself
I'm not sure which bus I should get for the first day (they both go to the same stop outside my house and the school) - bus A is the one that I've been getting for the past 5 years with my friends but the amount of people on there has significantly decreased so I'm worried that there won't be anyone going to the same sixth form as me, bus B I get that bus after school but I only started taking it in the mornings during GCSEs because it gets to school earlier but this school starts later so that's not a problem anymore but there are lots of people on that bus going to my new school but none that I really speak to. Please help :please:
Good luck to anyone who started sixth form today and to those starting later this week and good luck to everyone for the new school year xx

I go to an all-boys school that has girls in the sixth form too so it's interesting to hear it from your perspective! Personally I think the reason they keep to themselves is because they are too scared to talk to you girls 😭

Good luck with the rest of the week!

Yep I don’t think i’ll do 4 and an epq but I might drop a subject at the end of the year instead but i’m not sure yet
Oh it’s cool to hear it from the other perspective but luckily I have quite a few people from my old school so it’s not too bad apart from in some lessons

Heyyy

Homework

physical geography homework

finish writing formulae for chemistry (did it on the bus yesterday)

Extra work

do some more modelling in mechanics questions for applied maths

sort out all my books, notes, textbooks, folders

revise parts of an animal, plant, fungal and algal cell for biology

Other

I actually talked to so many people yesterday in school and on the bus so I'm quite proud of myself for that

I am not the only girl in my form anymore YAYYY

we just did writing formulae and balancing equations in chemsitry yesterday which is one of the few parts of chemsitry that I LOVE so know the person next to me thinks I'm like super smart even tho he got a higher grade that me in GCSEs lol

I'm gonna start this up again bc why not
QOTD - What subjects is everyone taking this year? (GCSEs, A Levels or at uni)

AOTD

So nice to hear you’re enjoy it! I start on Monday doing Bio, Physics, Maths and EPQ- extremely nervous
Heyyy

Homework

:groovy:Did both bits of hw from my last post

read the gcse geography textbook (there is a section that my school didn't do for GCSE so I need to recap it)

find examples of globalisation on the local high street

a4 page about endosymbiont theory

finish 3 questions for pure maths

learn carbohydrate structures for biology

Extra work

:groovy:Did the first 2 of 3 things

Learn cell structures

practice ionic equations stuff from chemistry

sign up for at least 1 leadership thing

Other

OMGGG WHY IS MY BAG SO HEAVYYY - you would think that only doing 1/3 of the subjects I would have less stuff but no. At one point I was carrying 4 textbooks AND 8 other like exercise book things by shoulder is actually dying :banghead: and I look like a literal year 7 😭

I really feel like I made the right decision coming to this school yk - there are definietly downsides (like me lack of frees) but I feel like this is the best place for me for sixth form

I cannot believe the pace we are going alreadyyy and I have so much stuff to do so I should definitely get off TSR lol

I have baselines coming up this week and next week for our first reports in October - i'msoscared
