GCSE maths doubt

Hi, I'm about to start Y9. Does anyone know a good maths book that I can use to study for GCSE maths preparations? Anything, other than CGP, because, I have online classes for maths, and my tutor said that CGP is too easy.

imo i'd watch youtubers such as GCSEmathstutor and mathsgenie as they helped me achieve a grade 8 in maths. However if i were u i wouldnt do many exam questions and you should focus on perfecting ur content as ur only in year 9

alright, thx
This advice is for when you are like in year 11.But as you enter year 11,end of year 10 start doing the maths 5 a day questions by Corbett maths daily.Near the end of year 11(like Christmas time to summer term) start doing aiming for grade 9(or whatever grade) papers on my math cloud.Apart from that rn in year 9,try to make sure you properly grasp topics like ratios, algebra and surds+indicies. MATHS IS ALL ABT PRACTICE. Always remember that if you struggle on a topic.Work hard to understand the topic by watching vids on gcse maths tutor(he also has amazing gcse resources) and then work up to the hardest Q's which he does in his vids. And also please try to enjoy year 9 as much as possible;it gets a lot harder from there.Ik this is unrelated but I want as many people to know abt these resources.
best of luck,
from a year 12 taking bio, chem and maths who got a grade 9 in maths gcse and had to work hard to get there.

maths nerd here.. personally i don't think textbooks are that much help for maths as i have one (paid like £21 for it too) and have not used it ONCE however i come with alternatives

to learn key formulae, make flashcards with JUST the key formulas on or simple things you'd need to remember to apply it to any question (no practice qs). for example one for the surface area of a cone, or one for the quadratic formula. then keep reviewing these - even if you think you've mastered it. for me this helps me remember things so much

but remember don't just do this as your main form of studying!! you NEED to do practice questions and apply these formulae. good websites to use are: maths genie, corbett maths, physics and maths tutor, and also dr frost maths if your school does it. these all have loads of practice questions for various topics , and i'd also recommend doing the corbett maths 5 a day everyday

different things may work for you but i'd recommend these as they've made me get straight grade 9s and i'm top of the class in every assessment
