okay so i just finished s5, receiving AAAAC in my highers, english, maths, bio, chem and rmps- C in chem
I'm s6 now and want to apply to gateway to medicine at aberdeen, dundee, st andrews etc. and the entry requirements for aberdeen and dundee are AABB in scotish highers from s4-s6 and with up to two resits allowed and st andrews entry requirements are BBBB at higher and CC in advanced highers.
(i meet the widening access eligibility for the g2m course) do you think I'd be considered with my grades? they are all first sittings and it's just unfortunate that chemistry didn't go how i thought it did. I'm doing chemistry, biology and art at advanced higher now for further context
Yeah, you should be fine, i'd consider retaking higher chem tho instead of taking it to AH. I also got a C in Higher Chem last year, and got an A this year, and was given a conditional for Glasgow GAP.

okayyy tysm!! do you think if i did well in AH I'd be able to apply/get a conditional for it? just asking bc it might be too late to switch subjects at my school

I’d email, but they’d probably ask for a B in AH instead of a C and, that is quite difficult to achieve. Dundee also don’t take into account AH’s and they want a B in chemistry minimum.

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. Thanks for your interest, and though I'm not an expert on the Gateway2Medicine course it sounds like you'd be on the right track to apply with us for this course. I would say to get in contact with [email protected] so our team who run the course will be able to advise, particularly if you're concerned about your Chemistry grades.
I hope this helps and just let us know if you have any more questions about studying in Aberdeen at all!
