Do your best to score as high marks as you can. Your second year will undoubtedly be a lot easier than your third (and possibly fourth depending on your degree). Do not skimp on the second year just because it's easier. That way you would have an easier time scoring a decent grade in your degree.

Typical habits include:

Study at least 40 hours per week - including seminars and lectures

Attend all lectures

Read all relevant and recommended texts

Go through the relevant journal articles in your unit outline for your assignment topic before starting

Go through references of journal articles and end of chapters for reading sources

Go through sources and references in relevant Wikipedia articles for reading sources (make sure they're academic)

Organise your notes once you made them - and possibly rewrite them

Go to at most 2 societies or clubs, and no more than 2 sessions per week

Go to socials to network with people and make friends - will help with jobs; just don't go to all of them

If it's maths based module/degree/subject, then do lots of practice questions. If you have problems, go through the easier textbooks in your unit outline to get a better grasp of the basics

Start revising from Week 1 and don't stop until you get to your exams

Comb through all material in your unit outline and lecture notes for the relevant material before attempting your assignment

Get feedback from people who marked your assignment (not always the tutor/lecturer), even if you scored 80%+

Recommend reading How to Write Great Essays by Peter Levin if you don't have academic writing down to a T.

Other skills that I recommend learning:

Learn to speed read - saves hours of your life, and days/months/years of your life over the course of your lifetime. There are courses out there.

Learn to touch type - touch typing speeds of 30 wpm vs 5wpm on a 2000 word essay can mean the difference between a little over an hour vs over 6.5 hours. You can pick up the basics of touch typing over 10 hours through free exercises found using Google.

The above assumes you're not doing an arts related degree e.g. music, art, performance art, drama, etc.
