What are some tips for physics, maths, and english to get an a?

For physics I would suggest using different ways to study, personally physics rly bored me so i had to do different things to keep my interest, including flashcards, having fun with my notes, summary posters - basically a mindmap but a different structure bc i don't like mind maps. I also use bbc bite size and youtube explanation videos a lot for physics and past papers.

In maths past papers are your best friend, if there's particular things you struggle on I would do loads of those questions and please ask the teacher/classmates if you don't get something.

English i would use flashcards and summary posters for scottish text and critical essay, for ruae make sure you know how to answer each question and then just do past papers. You definitely want to practice timing yourself for the textual analysis paper.

Overall, past papers and if you struggle on something specifically concentrate on it until you are happy with it - try to do this throughout the year.

To be honest, I hated physics. I liked dynamics and space and other stuff but I just found the electricity stuff so boring. My teacher had target graded me as a B at some point during the electricity topic. But each to their own, you may love it, what other subjects are you taking?

thanks for the feedback, I literally had my dynamics and space test last week and it was okayish and I'm starting the electricity topic this week, I'm taking nat 5 biology, chemistry and modern studies, english and maths, core PE and RMPS.

From your subject choice (2 other sciences and maths) you'll probably be alright with it, some people in my class found the electricity topic the easiest so it really does depend. How did you feel about the dynamics part specifically? the dynamics topic is a lot like what the rest of the course is like, the information + the formulas balance. I actually did the dynamics and space topic last
I found the dynamics part all alright, the thing there is just to use the right formulas and read questions carefully which I try to do. As you said it depends on what topic I find the easiest so I hope I also find the rest okay.

yeah that's something that just comes with practice, past papers will definitely help with that. Good luck with your exams!!

Hi i've kinda skimmed through your essay and I have a few constructive criticisms but please keep in mind i am not a teacher and i would suggest asking a teacher for detailed advice.

I'm not sure how your school does things but mine has always told me it's better to try and convince the reader of your point than to remain neutral as that picks up more marks, i understand that's a lot to rework your whole essay so you don't need to do that but i thought it was worth mentioning.

Ok first of i really like your introduction i think it hooks the reader well and uses interesting language. However, i feel that is lost in the rest of the essay.

The rest of your essay is very structured in the way you use "first, second, third, next, last" and etc and it feels repetitive after a while, i would suggest using different openers and attempt to connect your points better. Additionally, you have a lot of points but they're not very detailed - I feel it would be better to have more detailed points than many, quality over quantity and all that. Also I don't think you need to explain your sources as much, when I did my essay I just displayed the information and did the source list at the end.

I don't know for sure how these are marked though so don't take my pointers as fact

Is this essay good or bad? I don't trust my teacher as he has failed me on everything since day one, but when I show it to other teachers they say that I've passed it.
Technology: Have technological advancements caused more harm than good?
The rapid changes in technology have taken the world by storm, some people think that this is a good thing, others disagree with this view and believe that it has done more harm in modern society, in this essay I will be explaining both sides of the argument, throughout this essay, I will remain neutral.
The first paragraphs of information are from a site called Tech Report, the article is based on the situation and impact of technology on U.S. society, and the way the points and article are written suggests that the writer thinks that technology is harmful. According to this site, there are roughly 1.6 million accidents in the U.S. annually due to drivers distracted on their phones, out of this 1.6 million of these accidents, around 3,000 fatalities occur.
The second point this article makes is from a study conducted in 2012; the study produced results that showed that internet addiction is like drug addiction as users get a high from instant satisfaction.
The third is more focused on social media, the article states that phones are used for social interactions, which is a good thing as it helps people who have anxiety to talk to other people more easily online than it would be to talk to them in person, but when it goes over to the dark side of social media, it becomes less of a helper, in 2019, 51 million people who used social media were reported to be suffering from some form of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts. 19.4 million of these people were reported to have had at least 1 episode of depression, and 2600 committed suicide.
The information in this paragraph is from the Montreal Times newspaper, the specific article I will be referring to is just based on technology in general, like the other site, this article also thinks that technology is harmful, the first point that is made in this article is that the constant use of technology can have negative effects on our posture, they state that when we use phones and when we use laptops or computers, we normally start to slouch, which can then cause physical pain and mental pain.
The second point the article makes is that the constant use of technology hurts our vision if we look at the screen for a prolonged amount of time, if you get headaches while using technology but ignore it, it can lead to light sensitivity and possibly double vision.
The final source of information on the harmful side of technology is from a website called thecircular.org, this article mostly on the effect on students, and once again, this article thinks that technology is harmful, the first point that the writer of the article makes is that they think that technology has destroyed creativity, as students will now just search on google for the answer to everything and get ideas, in their eyes, this creates laziness.
The second point the writer makes is that technology distracts students in a learning environment, as they will gladly look at their phones in class, or if they're using a computer, go look at their notifications rather than do schoolwork, this disrupts their learning.
The last point made in this article is that websites normally misguide people to get them on their site, this can harm students who will normally search up what they are supposed to be doing and take the information straight off the first website they see.
The next source of information is from Maryville University online, the way that the article was written on the site signifies that the writer believes that technology is not harmful, and from this point on, every paragraph and every source will be supporting technology rather than oppose it, the first point that is made is that technology helps children to get information very easily, it also helps them boost their creativity and social skills.
The second point that is made is that technology helps small children to become independent learners faster, this helps them later in life when they are doing courses in school, like National 5 English.
The last point that is made in this article is that many technological products help to develop hand-eye coordination in young children, it can also help them learn literacy and other things that they will need later in school.
The next source of information is from the website Intelligent HQ, the first point that this source makes is that, instead of having to pay hundreds of pounds for a professional photographer, you can just use your phone, it will give the same quality of image, but it is cheaper overall.
The final point that is made is that you can contact people from around the world if you have family that you have never seen in your life in the olden days, you would have to visit that country, now, you can just go on an app on your phone and talk to them face to face through a screen.
The last source of information is from the Santander Open Academy, the first and only point that I will use from their article is that we can access all types of media with a click of a button, like entertainment media, and work media, etc.
Throughout this essay, I have tried to remain neutral, and now I will pick my stance. My stance is that both sides make a good argument, but the argument that is saying that technology is harmful is stronger, in my opinion, technology is harmful, but also good, so I have decided to keep my stance neutral.

Also it might be worth mentioning you probably should take your essay down in case someone copies it, it's unlikely but just in case bc that would cause a lot of issues for you
