GCSE 2024 Edexcel History

Hello

My son got GCSE Edexcel History one mark off from grade 8.
He needed 8 for Sixth Form.
His teacher said to him to do remark, so he e-mailed his school teacher to ask remark on 22nd August evening.

and Bank holiday Monday today, he got e-mail from his teacher and said "nothing change. same score"

I don't know the process but is it normal process?
He did not see anything. just he asked his teacher to apply by e-mail and 3 days later he was told by his teacher "nothing change".

To get result in 3 days is quite quick, and he did not see anything the process....
Of course it doesn't mean I don't trust his school.

If this is the normal process for remark, then fine.
Just I wonder!

Thank you!

Hiya I'm also getting my history remarked by the same exam board for the same reasons. As far as I know this could be possible but remarks could take up to 20 days of waiting. My teacher said they would simply let us know once they heard back from the examboard. So based on this I am simply assuming he wouldn't see the process except getting it explained to him and signing a form that he understands the process? Please correct me if I'm wrong. As this is just my limited knowledge going though the same process as your son xx

Thank you for your reply!

Yes when my son asked his teacher to remark, he sign the each paper. (He signed History paper 1, 2 and 3). Then his teacher submitted exam board. Teacher said to him it take 15 days outcome. But in 3 days it came back to the school. But my son hasn't seen anything his scripts etc. Just he was told by e-mail nothing changed.
It means he could not go the Sixth Form. (he is internal student, he needed top 5 subject total more than 38.)

so I wanted to know normally when you applied remark, how you get to know the outcome. just being told by school teacher?

Thank you!

For my school, yes, the teacher (probably head of examinations in my school) will email either me or my parents the outcome sometime in September. As I'm assuming it won't be so soon.

Thank you.
I understand. Just I was shocked it was too quick and the teacher's e-mail was very cold.
My son felt he was rejected and suddenly kicked out...
I was really hoping and expecting essay base exam and just one mark.... but it didn't move.
