GCSE Remark advice

I have recently got my gcses back and have noticed I am 1-2 marks off the next grade
I am 1 mark off a 5 in maths which is strange since I have only been receiving 6s throughout the year, hence I have requested a remark.
However I am also 1 mark off a 9 in English literature and 2 marks off a 7 in English language,
I am a bit worried about requesting a remark due to as English is a subjective subject and I could be downgraded heavily and lose my 8,
Should I still request a remark due to as I am very close to the next grades?

In most cases, if you're close to the higher grade boundary then your marks won't decrease to the point where your grade goes down. I think it's safe for you to get a remark, I'm also getting one in English language since I was 2 marks off a 9.

Heyyyy, no unfortunately I didn't end up getting the 9. My marks didn't budge at all tbh 🥲 but you never know, yours could still go up either way, it's really random since you get different people remarking them every time.
P.S can you still get your papers remarked? I thought it was only until like October or something xD

oh noo that mustve been frustrating esp when youre only 1-2 marks away from a 9 😮*💨. But honestly an 8 itself is amazing!! I got my script back so i'll see what my teacher says abt it
+i actually sat my paper in november so i still have some time to recheck it lol
