Have you considered other universities like Surrey, Durham, Southampton, Lancaster, Manchester etc? Your profile may be good for them too.

Hey there!

Totally understand how tough this decision can be especially when you're coming from abroad and some top unis don’t recognise your diploma. It’s great that you’ve got high grades though, and you’re clearly thinking carefully about your options!

From the universities you mentioned:

Queen Mary is probably the most well-known for Law among your list. It’s part of the University of London, has strong research credentials, and good links with law firms and chambers, especially if you’re planning to stay in the UK or work internationally.

Sussex has a solid Law school with a focus on human rights and international law, and it's in a lovely student-friendly city (Brighton) by the sea. Also good for a more relaxed but still academically strong experience.

Essex is very respected for Human Rights Law and international law, and they’re quite friendly towards international students. They often rank high in student satisfaction too.

Royal Holloway is a beautiful campus with a growing Law department. It’s a bit smaller and quieter than the others, which could be great if you prefer a close-knit community.

That said since you're coming from Turkey and you mentioned challenges with diploma recognition, I’d also recommend looking into The University of Law (ULaw). It’s a specialist legal university, and they’re known for being flexible with international qualifications. They have campuses all over the UK including London Moorgate, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds, and they focus 100% on Law and legal careers. They also offer strong support for international students, with prep courses and guidance for working towards becoming a solicitor or barrister in the UK.

ULaw might not be as “traditional” as some universities, but it's highly respected within the legal profession, especially for its focus on employability and practical skills which really helps when you’re applying for jobs or training after your degree.

Hope that helps a bit! You’ve clearly got great potential, and whichever uni you choose, what matters most is making the most of the opportunities you’re given. Wishing you the best of luck!

Sussex is best of those for Law, 20th in the UK, according to Edurank. Queen Mary University of London is 27th. Essex is 34th. Royal Holloway is 47th.
Royal Holloway by far has the most attractive building, from what I've seen of those, in my opinion though.

Entry standards at Queen Mary are on the higher side (81%, less than just 7 English universities) according to The Complete University Guide, which will partly be because it's part of the University of London.. and in London.

If you can get in there, perhaps you could also get in Nottingham, Exeter, Leeds. Sheffield, Birmingham, Leicester, Reading.
