Deferred entry question for Cambridge

Hello,

I’m going to apply to Cambridge in the next few months to study English, however I want to make it a deferred entry for personal reasons. So, instead of 2025 entry, it would be 2026. However, if my application for 2026 entry gets rejected, can I reapply for that same year of entry the next year during my gap year? Will Cambridge allow that? I don’t know if you can apply for the same year twice.

If anyone could answer, I would be very much obliged. It’s a bit of a simple question but I can’t find the answer to it anywhere. Thank you so much!

Yeah that's fine but you should not apply to the same college so you get a fresh set of interviewers.

You won't be able to hold offers from other unis to reapply so if you get offers elsewhere for 2026 you have to reject them next summer to reapply during your gap year (bearing in mind there's no guarantee you get an offer twice from a uni).

Thank you so much for your reply! That’s really helpful
