Life as a Software Engineering Student at Bournemouth University

Hello!

My name is Li and I'm studying Software Engineering at Bournemouth University.
I'm about to start my second year (Sep 24). I've really enjoyed my course so far and I've done so much with my time outside of my studies too.

I became a Student Ambassador and represented my department at open days, I joined the Schools teams and helped with school visits (also representing my department/course), I also joined the digital marketing team to write content about my course for future and current students alike, I also joined Unibuddy and Future Students Enquiry Team to help answer questions from prospective students and other general questions. I became a Student Representative for Level 4 Computing to liaise students thoughts to the academics to help shape a better environment for all. Over the Summer I also temporarily joined the Admissions team as a Clearing Ambassador to help answer questions and make Clearing applications for this years entry. These are all things I've done just for being a Student Ambassador for Bournemouth University, I've learnt so much from each team and I'm excited to take this knowledge into next year and give them to the next Student Ambassadors too.
On the side I've also helped set-up and became the President of the Language Learning Society which I'm also excited to take into the second year and watch blossom.
Taking these responsibilities into the second year alongside an additional role I've had the greatest opportunity to have, becoming a PAL Leader for Technology Foundation. I'm excited to take all the things I've learnt to help the foundation year cohort through their time at BU.
