do you need lots of experience to get onto a grad scheme or job?

I'm doing a degree in software engineering at a mid rank uni (but i enjoy it and its close to home so idm  ) and im entering year 2

and tbh idk if i want to go into software engineering that much- i know i want something with numbers but thats all i know atm..maybe data analytics / something else like audit

but i was wondering..for grad schemes / jobs in audit / data science - do they expect a lot of work experience? all i have atm is some private tutoring ive done for 2years..is this good? i get a weird feeling its not "enough" but idk

i was gonna try and get a placement year, or failing that, id do some virtual internships instead (and for data analytics..maybe some projects)

so do i need a lot to get a job / grad scheme? also, a bit unrelated..but are the technology grad schemes at bank the same as IB? like..is the whole "top uni or not much chance' still the same or is IB completly different?

thanks so much!
