Has anybody passed SQE1 after studying law at Open Uni?

Hi all

I’m tempted to study law with OU, it would take me longer than doing a conversion plus SQE1 prep but it’s better for spreading the cost (I can’t get a student loan) and also, I’d have a degree in law. So, these are the pros, for me.

But has anyone actually passed SQE1 after studying with OU? Unlike other providers they don’t publish their pas rate for the SQE route. I find it concerning so would appreciate people’s insights. 🙏

I'm not sure anyone is likely to know the answer on here, unless they are themselves an OU student who has passed SQE1. I would suggest asking OU what their pass rate is. If the course is new, there is also the possibility that nobody from OU has sat SQE1 yet.

OU are very new to SQE prep courses. I did my LLB with OU and it was great but theres been a lot of teething pains with SQE prep courses and if they dont publish pass rates then they're probably not good otherwise you can bet they would publish them. I passed SQE1 today with College of Legal Practice but they similarly don't publish pass rates for probably obvious reasons and I'd definitely have chosen another provider were it not for the cheap cost of CoLP.

I think QLTS, ULaw and Barbri are the best providers from what I've heard please do research to find whats best for you. QLTS mocks are the hardest and they have loads which prepares you the best from what I can gather.

Hey this is something im questioning whether to study for my SQE with another provider after finishing my degree at open university, i read its a very hard test so i would want all the prep i could get. Would QWE in a similar sector prep me for this too alongside the study?

Many thanks
