Second degree

Hi, I have question about receiving second degree funding, because information available online is confusing. If I already hold a honours degree and I would want to apply for computing course, to receive tuition fee and maintenance loan I need to study part time correct? doest that include online courses?

Hi there. What is the full name of the course you are looking to study? Where will you study this and also is this full time or part time? Thanks, David

Hi there,

We can't click on links so you would need to confirm the course details for us to check this for you.

Thanks,
Claire

Hi BasiaAdidasek,

Thank you. Only the Arden University, BSc (Hons) Computing, online, duration 4 years (part-time) is eligible for support. You will be eligible to apply for part time support as this is an exception course part time as long as you are not registered in that field.

Thanks, Clare

for tuition and maintenance loan?

Hi BasiaAdidasek,

Only the Tuition Fee Loan, the Maintenance Loan is not available for distance learning students unless you have a disability that prevents you from attending a course in person.

If that is applicable to you, we would send a Medical Declaration form to you to have your GP complete to confirm this.

Thanks, Clare

How can I check which courses are exempted?
Can I also apply for Open University and receive maintenance loan? (I am a disabled student)

Hi there. You can find a list of exception courses here: https://www.heinfo.slc.co.uk/resources/guidance/courses-management-service-user-guide/eligibility/equivalent-or-lower-qualification-elq-exceptions/?alttemplate=printchapter&id=1454

All Open University courses are distance learning, so if you have a disability preventing you from attending a course in person, you may be able to received a Maintenance Loan. We would require a medical declaration form to be completed by your doctor. Thanks, Leah.

Hi there,

The form should show on your to do list. If it doesn't you can use the live chat option on your online account to contact us, and we can send this out to you.

Thanks,
Claire
