I want supercurriculars for my maths + CS help!

Non-olympiad kid here. My goal is to get into CS + math in imperial/edinburgh/UCL. I've got my supercurriculars for CS set, but now I'm trying to put my supercurricular focus on math (I'm lacking). Here are some 'roadmaps' I've considered: - study the informatics olympiad, within it there is maths. Explore topics that I'm interested within it if I encounter one, and I could potentially win coding competitions from my studies - Do summer school - Wider reading + reflection - STEP support programme Which one do u guys think will benefit me the most? I haven't tried any of those, so I'd like to get your opinion to pick my first target. Leave a comment and share your opinions on the values and effectiveness on each one and which one do you think is the most useful to college applications!

year 12

the SMC is good for your application, particularly if you can get into BMO. i'd recommend starting preparation now, and also start the STEP 1 support programme as these will strengthen your maths. in terms of specific supercurriculars to put on your personal statement, find some area of maths that you're interested in e.g. graph theory, group theory etc. and read up more about it and if you can give a talk on it.
also start your admission test prep as early as possible, i'd recommend any time from march-may to at least start looking at the style of questions, even if not in timed conditions, just so you know vaguely what it is like.
depending on how your school teaches maths and further maths, you should consider sitting the AEA. the AEA only tests A-Level maths content, no further maths, so if you learn the full A-Level maths in year 12, you can sit the AEA at the end of year 12. a merit/distinction will look very impressive on your application, considering that you have sat it a year early.
you say you're "lacking" in terms of supercurriculars, don't worry you still have over a year. the fact that you have already decided what you want to do is a great first step, as most people will not know at this stage, so you are ahead of a lot of people.
