How versatile is Software Engineering as a degree?

hey im doing software engineering but idk if i want to stay in the field so much after uni anymore (im entering year2)

i was thinking of doing data science / analytics or even something competely different like audit / accountancy or something.. i know id like something with numbers but thats about all i thought about atm

would software engineering be a "good" degree for these? i was just a bit concerned since it isnt Comp Sci (well, at my uni the courses are 98% the same, besides one or 2 modules),so idk if employers value it as much or if its seen any differently..especially for fields that arent really related to it like accountancy

thanks for any help!

Data science and analytics don't require you to have specific degrees. A quantitative degree like software engineering will help though.
Word on the street is that it's recommended that you get acquainted with SQL and PowerBI - you would be able to get certifications in them if you want.

Accounting and audit (why audit?) won't require you to have a degree in any specific subject. However, they do expect you to have good grades and especially good A Level grades.
Do note, accounting and auditing aren't really quantitative roles, hence why they accept graduates with a degree in any subject and A Levels in any subjects.
