Is Student Life Fun?

Wanting to go to Uni and want to know if its going to be really fun. What stuff is there to do at Uni? Apart from study oc.
Hey!

Student life is super varied and can look different for everybody!

Obviously most of the days are spent studying, but the rest of the time is open to however you make it look. For me, I spend time doing sports clubs, working in the campus SU bar, volunteering, meeting up with friends, going out in the evenings and going on walks to explore the local area! It completely depends what sort of things you find fun

I really love student life and the freedom that uni gives me. I typically study 8-4:30 monday to friday and then the rest of the time is mine to use however I like. I have loved the opportunity to live in a new place, meet new people and try new things.

If there is a course and uni you are interested in, I would definitely recommend it!

All the best,

Lucy

Hi

Uni life is completely different for everyone, as everyone has different things that they like to enjoy outside studying from sports and societies and visiting the town centre and taking part in different leisure activities.

As well as this I know a lot of my friends including me also work in the free time around studying.

I hope this helps,

Hey! I hope you are greatly looking forward to your studies.

I would like to say that University life can prove to be subjective but it is important to do some research around societies, clubs and hangout spots on campus or around campus, especially if your an extrovert!!!

I hope this helps a little.

Hey there,

University student life is usually different for different people, but it can definitely be very fun if you make the most out of it. While the basic daily routine as a student involves going to lectures, studying and doing assignments, there's much you can also do at university. Joining student clubs and societies is a great way to make your student life more fun and happening. I joined a few clubs during the first year and it was an amazing way to make new friends and learn new skills. Here, at the University of Southampton, I found that there was always something fun and exciting happening on campus and around the city that I could get involved in. There are so many events you can go to, like Karaoke nights, pets as therapy sessions, fairs, etc. Fresher's week is also packed with fun events that make it so easy to get involved and meet new people.

There is also the social side of things - hanging out with your friends, enjoying nightlife (only if you want to) or exploring the city together. Personally, I am not much of a party person, so me and my friends would end up organising regular game nights, movie nights and potluck dinners - which were so fun! We would also explore the local food spots together.

Overall, while you will spend a lot of your time studying as a student, there is much you can do to get involved and have fun. It's also a time to meet new people and make memories!

I hope this helps!

Hi there!

I always think the best part of student life is how varied it is based on what you want to get involved in! There are so many societies and clubs available to students, that everyone's schedule/week can look totally different! Most student unions will have a list of their societies online, so you can have a look at what is available to you before you join. It's also a good idea to make the most of Fresher's week, as this is when many societies will have taster sessions, where you can get a feel for them before you pay any joining fees. At university you're in a unique position where you have access to many sports and activities that you've never tried before, and trying as many new things as possible is the best way to find something you love!

I also love the freedom that my university schedule gives me. As already mentioned, once you have a work schedule that works for you on your course, you're totally free to use the rest of your time any way that you like! Personally, I enjoy meeting with friends at the beach and going to society events, but there is so much stuff to do at university, the choice is endless!

If you have a subject you're interested in pursuing a degree in, I think that university life is so fun!

Wanting to go to Uni and want to know if its going to be really fun. What stuff is there to do at Uni? Apart from study oc.

Hi there!

There are lots of things to do at university and I have found my time at uni to be really fun!

There are lots of societies which you can join which I think are great and I have really enjoyed. They are great ways of doing something fun that you enjoy doing and also meeting lots of new people at the same time. There are usually lots of societies at every university, from a variety of sports to other interests such as crafts etc and there will also usually be a society for you course/department so have a look into all of these as there is so many different things that most people can find something they enjoy.

There will also be events put on by your university and your Student Union which are fun and worth having a look at if you are interested in things like this. At Hallam, the SU often puts events on and trips which people enjoy doing and your uni might do similar things too.

Lots of people will go out too if this is something that you enjoy doing. If you live in halls, people will often be up for going out together and doing fun things as a flat which is nice.

Some societies or courses put events on too which can sometimes be more chilled events or more formal things such as a ball at the end of the year. These are fun too and lots of people get involved in these.

I hope some of this helps
