Wisdom on these Medical Schools Please? 2025 entry

I'm looking to do Gateway/Foundation Year to Medicine.

I wanted to go to UEA or Leicester but I can't because I don't meet all the entry requirements for both of them. I really really loved the university, the vibe, the community, the city, the societies, the affordability (accommodation etc), placements and the good support system by staff. I want to find another university that offers the same. I am unable to go on open days to all these unis so it would be extremely useful to hear your advice on this.

Most importantly, I want to know if the course structure is good with good student satisfaction and preps you to become a good FY1. I would prefer placement in earlier years or some sort of outside/hands-on experience (as I am a kinesthetic learner), recordings of the lectures and teachings in smaller groups.

I have narrowed it down to these universities, I'm eligible to apply and meet all the entry requirements.
University of Bristol
University of Leeds
Hull York
Keele
Liverpool?
Nottingham/Lincoln Pathway

Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Thank you!!!! Any advice on the interview process would be handy too

Hi, Current 4th year at Hull York here! I can't give you much info on the other unis unfortunately but from what you've said is important it seems like HYMS ticks all of the boxes you mentioned. You have placement every week from week 3 of first year (once a week for year 1, and year 2, and you also have regular placement in your foundation year), all your teaching is small groups aside from lectures which are recorded and uploaded online, hands-on anatomy teaching, etc. The uni has a really strong focus on clinical and communication skills and this is something that is consistently noted by supervisors once graduates start work as F1s, especially the communciation skills. The environment is supportive and the setup of living and studying across a wide area means you get so many different experiences that prepares you really well for your career. Hull is a super affordable city and the student community and societies have made my time here something I wouldn't change for anything. As a gateway student you would be in hull for the gateway year and then have the choice to stay in Hull for years 1&2 or go to York. everyone mixes together once you start 3rd year anyway.
