Can I change rooms?

I got a room in Froggatt back through room choices not preferences, but have since realised I might prefer something down the bottom of endcliffe, like rivelin. I don't know if it would be possible to get a room changed, and if so, how would I go about it? would it cost me extra to do so? is it a random process, like I might even get put in an even noisier and social area than I currently have, which is the opposite of my aim. And is it possible if asking for a new room to request to have a block with lifts as I have back issues that would make carrying heavy shopping up the stairs very much not fun (nothing diagnosed just lasting damage from injuries.)

The earlier you ask the better. In summer they switch some people around city and endcliffe accoms, If not, you can switch I think until december/january, but they make you stay in your accom for a number of weeks to know if you really want to switch or not.

Hiya,

I am not completely sure if a room change would be possible right now as it is almost the end of the deadline for all students to firm an accommodation, however it could be worth calling up the accommodation services at +44 114 222 4488 to see if they have any rooms you can swap into and this won't be done at an extra fee however if your contract fee is different you will need to pay the excess.

If there are no rooms unavailable, unfortunately you will have to stay in your current room. However, once the semester has started and it has been a few weeks and you are still not liking your room, you can ask to change into another flat and they can look for suitable options for you then. The services will try their best to put you in a flat where you feel comfortable.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have anymore questions!
