Turnitin score

I've just written an essay and my turnitin score is 22 per cent - when I click down the side it says 1 or 2 per cent for each thing. Is this too high? I don't really think I can change much more of my essay. Most of it comes from the reference list but there are a few phrases that I have used eg 'I prepared for the review' that have come up in others' work.

What should I do?

22% is still in the green, so you should be all good. If it's mainly in your reference list and the sources line up with what you're saying, it should be OK. It only really becomes a problem when there are big blocks of text in the body of your essay that are 1:1 with other sources that aren't properly cited and/or put in quotation marks. A few frequently used phrases used here and there that get flagged for random sources are too common in Turnitin. Most of my assignments are in the 20s on Turnitin and it's always because of my reference list.
