Hi all!
I’m supposed to get my final Lpc results mid October but I start my tc in September. My tc is conditional on me passing the Lpc and so far, I’ve passed my core and skills with a merit average.
I’ve just sat my electives (employment, commercial and ip, and private acquisitions) and feel fine about commercial/ip and employment, but we all absolutely hated private acquisitions (both learning it and being examined on it!)
I checked the recent exams results spreadsheet for July 2024 and have only seen one private acquisitions fail (consistent with the persons other grades) - but I’m very worried about failing. I keep being told that since I passed core and skills, I should be fine, and this seems to be the case on the spreadsheet but I did not enjoy the papers so much for PA.
I did feel this way about one of my core modules (I was worried I’d just miss a pass but somehow ended up with a merit in it) so I’m hoping this is a repeat but it doesn’t help that I have to wait for so long - I’m just wondering - I know they say they “want us to pass” but I’m not even joking - I feel like I could genuinely get 0/20 in the MCQs (each paper). I hated them.
Has anyone felt this before? How do you think the firm would react if I did fail it? Would I be told to retake whilst doing the tc?
Does bpp (my Lpc provider) stick to a mark scheme or can they award marks if you still mention something relevant?
If helpful, I do have mitigating circumstances. I just hate how you need to individually pass each elective to pass the Lpc despite some passes being much higher than others (you should be able to cancel them out!)
