Study techniques

Hello, this year I am trying to elevate my study game so that I can get into a good university. In the past all I had to do was read the textbook and do some past papers and I got a C in maths and all the others were As and Bs in my igcses but in my transition to alevels it was very evident that doing this method was very ineffective because i kept getting Ds and Es. can i get recommended better studying techniques please?
Koi Academy on Yt is VERY useful in discussing study techniques
I recommend that you check them out

Overall, the more science a Ytber uses ( while ofc still remaining intelligible), the better quality of the advice that you will get and the greater guidance you will have in being able to implement it

Hey there 😃

Reading a textbook is a solid start, but it’s not always the best way to remember everything. Our attention can wander easily, making it tough to retain a lot of information. That’s why I love adding one of the active learning techniques to boost my memory. My personal favorite is creating a set of test questions while reading. This not only helps you get a better understanding of the material but also gives you a handy revision tool you can revisit anytime for a quick review.

Past papers are fantastic, so make sure to keep using them! They not only help you solidify your knowledge and improve memory but also reveal any gaps and familiarise you with common exam formats.

Besides that, I highly recommend making notes, especially if the material isn’t too overwhelming. Rewriting, paraphrasing, and summarising can work wonders for understanding and retaining information. Plus, your notes also become a great revision tool you can use anytime.

I hope it was helpful 💪 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉 You can also chat with me or other students directly through The Ambassador Platform.

Take care,
