Hi!
I'm going by jellyfish on here!
I've just enrolled in my college this morning so I thought I would set up my post.
A little about me:

I'm autistic and have been struggling with my low-support secondary school for years, I'm hoping that my college will be better.

I have an interest in sea creatures, especially jellyfish

My favourite artists are Chappel Roan, Seventeen, Aespa, Laufey and Charlie XCX.

I'm a lesbian

My College Plans:
Due to me having bad grades and poor attendance, because of my unsupportive school, I didn't make the grades for my planned courses.
However, my college has offered me a pathway to my chosen courses, which will make my 2 years turn to 3 years.
I'm going to be doing:

Core Maths (AQA),

English Language Retakes (Hopefully do in November)

Medical Science Certificate (WJEC)

And hopefully by next summer my college will be happy for me to move onto:

Chemistry A-Level (OCR)

Biology A-Level (Edexcel)

Child Development BTEC Extended Certificate (Edexcel)

However my choices may be different by the end of the year
I hope you stay and watch my progress

Hey good luck in the future . I'll be following
I'm glad to see someone who is Aespa and Seventeen fan. What are your fav songs from them ?

I love 'Supernova' and 'Better Things' by Aespa, and 'Same dream, same mind, same night' and 'Even if the world ends tomorrow' by Seventeen

OMG IM SO SORRY I HAVENT UPDATED THIS!
I've only had 2 proper days at college, I've had a period of each of my subjects.

12/09/24
Summary:

English Language - It's kinda standard, english language gcse. My teacher has already set up dates for mocks  October, in preparation for Early November Resits. However, he seems really lovely.

Core Maths - We've only gone over a little bit of gcse content... kinda boring, I forgot how much I hate maths  Most people are taking it as an extra 4th subject, so there isn't going to be much homework set. Also my class is a mix of first years and second years. :s-smilie:

Medical Science - ❤️ I love science. My teacher is my form tutor, shes so lovely. I spoke to one of the girls in my form in the class... i think i made a friend  I love this class, and im really excited to carry on with it. Honestly i think this may be the only class where i get normal/usual homework.

To Do:

1.

Medical Science Homework - Make flashcards on todays lesson/powerpoint

2.

Medical Science Homework - Watch video in prep for tommorows lesson, make notes

3.

Medical Science - Make notes/mind map on todays content

Good Luck with your subjects! I'm glad you've got such nice teachers as they make a world of a difference <3
OMG IM AWFUL AT UPDATING  this may have to become weekly updating... :s-smilie:

18/09/24
Summary:

English Language - We've been working through the comprehension questions (2-3), are they the same in both papers? (AQA). I'm struggling a bit getting used to doing english language again and changing exam boards (Eduqas -> AQA) :frown:. However my teacher is so lovely, so I think that really helps. We've started looking at the Oral Exam.. can anyone assist me on this? I'm thinking I may do it on Jellyfish.. but im not sure where to go from here.. :s-smilie:

Core Maths - This weeks lessons have been way more enjoyable.. we've started looking at Financial Maths :o:. We're doing Income Tax and I love it. My teachers quite chill... even though he gave me an unauthorised absence even though i informed i would be late.. by 5 minutes . Although he put the scheme of learning for the year on google classroom.. I know what happens each lesson :o:.. so he's half-forgiven.

Medical Science - My teachers so nice. I love biology.. and chemistry :o: We're looking at the heart and blood right now... and its so interesting. This is the only class i actually get homework for.. which is only really making flashcards.. so my schedules pretty chill.

The AQA English language questions 2-3 are different in the two papers. In paper 1 Q2 is language analysis (8 marks) and Q3 is structure analysis (8 marks). Then on paper 2 Q2 is a summary and inference question (8 marks) and Q3 is language analysis (12 marks though so more writing).
For the oral exam you can just talk about jellyfish- like say why you like them!
The medical science thing sounds so cool!
Also dont worry about not updating! I love reading your posts 🙂

OKAY IVE HAD MORE THOUGHTS ON MY ENGLISH LANGUAGE SPEAKING EXAM... I'm thinking I may do a topic I can talk about more and give an opinion.. and rope the 'audience' and other people into it. I'm thinking of doing 'How Alicent Hightower is the Epitome of Misogony.. and Rhaenyra is her opposite.. yet just as much of a victim of the Patriarchal Society' There's so much I could talk about... her upbringing, religion, child marriage, hatred and jealousy of Rhaenyra (she's free from the clutches her 'duty' to Alicent, but truly isnt), her and Rhaenyra's hinted love (Alicents repressed Sapphism *speculation*) and her realisation of her position in S2. Also how fans and viewers see alicent.. her as either this 'victim' or 'horrible person'.. but never as a deeply flawed and interesting character and women, who can be analysed greatly.

It is a very complex topic that you can definetly flesh out! Best of luck xx
