Applying to Oxford English and Beginner's Italian

Hi,

I am writing to see if anyone has answers for a few questions I have about this course at Oxford!
- I achieved an A in English Literature A-Level, will this put me at a severe disadvantage?
- Is it important to bring in ideas about Old English into the personal statement, if so, what is the best way to do this?
- Are English and Modern Languages applicants also considered for the straight English course i.e. could applying to this course put you at a disadvantage?
