AP Exams and CS Application

Greetings,

I am an international student planning to apply to Oxford University. I was a computer science olympian in high school. I did research and assisted professors at universities until 12th grade and decided to take a gap year to wait for my work to be published in scientific journals and to end my lab work. In the meantime, I took the following ap exams for the first time at the end of 12th grade by studying on my own and got 5 in all of them: physics c(calculus-based): mechanics, physics c: electricity and magnetism, cs a, cs principles, physics 1&2(algebra-based), chemistry. In addition, I took the SAT exam.(score:1600) I have solved past MAT exam papers and I think I can do a good result.

However, I could not find a place to take the calculus bc exam last year due to overcrowding and I know that the math course is a prerequisite for admission to this department.

I finished 12th grade 1 month ago and I am currently continuing my lab studies, I will apply to American universities this year.

My question is this: Do you think I should apply to oxford with my predicted ap calculus bc score, declaring that I will take calculus bc this year? Is there a chance that I will be accepted or should I give up?

Thank you in advance. May all goodness be with you...

you have a very good chance. a 1600 is very impressive, as is getting 5's in all your AP classes. at the end of the day however, your personal statement, MAT score and interview performance will be the factors that are looked at when assessing if you should receive an offer. if you mention somewhere on your teacher reference that you were unable to take calculus bc last year for whatever reason, it should not be a problem

Thank you very much for your answer. This was really motivating at a time when I didn't know what to do. I hope all the goodness will be with you.
