Okay so slight setback these past few days, but it's never too late to come back stronger than ever. I'm just in the middle of a relapse (a couple actually, domino effect 😅) which was really taking away all my focus and energy. I feel like this isn't talked about enough. People try to advocate for mental health awareness, but it's these nuances and intersections that are always neglected. Sometimes you just have no energy but you feel as if it's impossible for you to slow down even if you really need it, even if tour teachers are saying "take it easy". You can't. I might have not explained it very well as it's past midnight and I'm sleepy, but I hope you know what I mean. 😴

hope your feeling a bit better today  And I totally agree it's not as straightforward as take it easy or talk to someone and ect. Everybody likes to give solutions instead of actually making us acknowledge the fact that it is okay to just have a bad day or week🤦🏾*♀️

Thank you 🤗 I'll try to do that more 😅

Since everyone's doing it, I figured I might as well.
* Feel free to also post about and track your progress throughout this year so we can all hold each other accountable!🌹
Hey everyone 👋🏻 I'm Noor and I'm starting Year 11 in a few days. Ouch! I had to change schools halfway through Year 10, and so had to learn a LOT of the content for my GCSEs from scratch on my own (like Macbeth and A Christmas Carol, I'd read them before just not in a GCSE way), while also trying to keep up with new things we were learning. 😅
Anyway, these are my GCSEs and I'm really hoping for all 9s and 8s:
- AQA English Language
- AQA English Literature (Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, Love and Relationships)
- EdExcel Maths (Higher)
- AQA Triple Chemistry, Physics and Biology
- AQA RE A (Christianity, Sikhism, Themes A, B, D, E)
- AQA French (Higher)
- AQA Spanish (Higher)
- Might do Italian, Arabic, and Biblical Hebrew if I have the time 😊🌸
I'll start posting when school starts (3rd Sep for me), and I'll try to be as consistent as possible. As I said, you can post your progress, tips, questions, and anything that comes to mind here if you'd like.
I'm using the Oasis concerts next year as motivation to study hard so I can go. 🥲
Good luck everyone! We can do this! 🌼

Arabic and Biblical Hebrow ... that's maddest combo 😳😳🤯

British-Iraqi 😊 so I can speak Arabic fluently, and used to be quite good at Hebrew (mainly for religious reasons) but haven't used it so much for quite some time so it's a bit rusty now 🙃😅

Thanks 😊 no I'm Muslim but we live in a community with lots of Jews and Christians (they speak Arabic obviously (the Iraqi ones I mean)) but Hebrew mostly helps with the Torah and other writings which we do believe in and need to learn from sometimes so yeah ☺️
I also used to go to Catholic school and studied Aramaic and Syriac (also similar to Arabic and Hebrew) to a certain extent so it's just quite helpful to know them.
Do you also speak any languages along with English? 😊

Oooh nice I've always wanted to learn Mandarin.
Thanks for the website! 💗
Okayyy we're back from the relapse, more determined than ever to make this year the best possible and get into a good sixth form. 💪🏻
The whole application thing had been really stressing me out but I'm trying to let it be for now and focus more on mocks. Oh wait, mocks! 😭 so yeah, a lot to get through these days!

News: I got a new computer! It's absolutely beautiful and I think it will really help with focusing and studying. Thanks mum and dad!

So I've been really busy looking at sixth forms and all the good ones are 2 hours away 🙃 but I'm willing to take that as long as the school is good.
Could anyone please compare William Perkin, St Gregory's and Henrietta Barnett? Just which one's best, what are some good aspects about it that you liked if you went there, general stuff. Would really appreciate it!

20/9:
- Maths past paper
- RE revision + questions
- Chemistry past paper
- Some random homework 😅
- Sort out revision for October assessments ASAP as these count towards our predicted grades

So yeah, that's all there is for today. Have a nice, productive day everyone!
Hi everyone! So thankfully yesterday was good, I did manage to do everything I'd planned, which is good. I feel like my essay writing skills have got a bit rusty (maybe because of the summer holidays?) but anyway, nothing to worry about.

21/9:

English Lit: Homework for AIC

Maths: Past paper + mark

Chemistry: Past paper

RE: Some revision. Anything would be better than what I'm doing now. 😅

Italian: Unit 2 key questions

So yeah. Have a great day everyone!

Okayyy we're on a roll!
I didn't revise too many subjects today, but I did delve deep into each one I did so that definitely helps

23/9
- Random homework
- Maths past paper
- RE past paper
- HALF a chemistry past paper
- Revised anything I didn't understand

So yeah, not too much, but it's sometimes beneficial to focus on one thing and take your time to really understand it before you move on to the next topic

I had an appointment scheduled tomorrow for my ear (I have tinnitus 😅🥲) but it was cancelled because the weather is awful and even the doctors are sick 🙈😅 sp yeah not much to look forward to

Today honestly felt great. It feels so good when you get the sense that you're back on track and you're doing everything you can.

I've a lot more planned for tomorrow, so yeah! Good luck to us all. Have a great day 🌸🌆
30/9:
- Physics: Space revision + questions
- English Literature: ACC themes revision
- Maths: some homework (not a lot 😅)
- Planning for some extracurriculars and extension projects I'm doing
- Contemplating about sixth forms 🫠🥲

So yeah, not too bad if I do say so myself. The migraines are really starting to become a bit too much, so I might have to go get them checked. Otherwise, I'll just have to bear with it and get through October at least half-sane 🤪 (cue "Step by Step" in Jordan Knight's voice 😂)

Hope everyone's day was nice and a bit more productive, and hello October! 🎃
