Open Uni - Question regarding start date and modules per year

I'm looking to start 2 x 30 credit modules in October this year, followed by 2 x 30 credit modules in February 2025. I'm unclear if doing this will prevent me from studying 120 credits at level 2, starting all 120 credit modules in October 2025?

Seems it would if I was starting the course next February, but I'm not sure how this situation will be handled, considering I will start 2 modules this October, so perhaps the Feb modules would be considered as part of the 24 / 25 academic year?

I have sent this question to the OU team, but I'm not sure if I'll hear back before the registration deadline next week, so thought I'd check here if anyone has an answer.

if you haven't heard back from the ou yet then i would definitely call them. Im in a similar situation (potentially). The compulsory module for my course starting october 2024 is full so im on a waiting list, if no space becomes available then i have to start that module in february 2025. the other two 30 credit modules aren't full so i start those in october, this would mean like you i start 2 in oct and 1 60 credit module in feb. when i was registering which module to do it said that modules beginning in oct end in june and starting in february means finishing in september. my guess atm is that because each year begins in october, finishing a module from one year in september shouldnt affect year 2 modules unless maybe you don't complete it/pass. but it would mean you have no summer break or a break at all most likely as you finish those modules in sept and go straight to year 2. i dont really know what would happen otherwise and i am very curious to know too, especially if my compulsory module ends up needing to begin in feb! i would definitely check with someone by phoning, but i'd love to know too! i hope this has helped a little bit though

Sometimes they take a long time to replay, I was waiting nearly two weeks but my query was not urgent and eventually they got it all sorted for me. I imagine courses starting in october and following february will be counted in the same academic year, they did count mine like that and I was able to pick all courses starting in october year after. Of course its best to check and have in writing so hopedully they will come back to You shortly

Thanks both! I spoke to the OU last week and they confirmed that I will be able to study full time next year, as I'm starting my course this October, so the modules I'm starting in Feb will be counted in this academic year.
