gap year or uni

basically in my ucas exams I was predicted a ABB with the A in psychology and the two B's in chemistry and maths. This lead to me being rejected from kings college for finance and accounting , however was accepted into queen mary for exon and finance. On results day I got much better then expected and recieved three AAA's :smile:

. My dilemma is should I either take my place up for queen mary in september or take a gap year and apply for finance degree apprenticeships ( which I was rejected for in year 13 and received no offers ) and apply for LSE, and UCL . Im really struggling to make a decision and have to decide in two days as I have to enrol into queen mary before the deadline. I wouldnt mind taking a gap year , its just that im not travelling and Im scared Ill regret it and also scared about wasting it and also scared ill get rejected from lse and the degree apprenticeshops meaning i took a gap year for no reason . Any advice on what to do?

Congratulations, amazing results!

Gap years are always a good idea if you aren't sure what you want to do. I was in a similar position myself, I took a gap year, it gave me time to figure out what I really wanted to do. I went to university in the end and looking back, my gap year meant I actually felt ready for university and I was able to save some money which helped a lot during the three years I was at university.

I'd suggest applying to LSE and UCL for sure. Degree apprenticeships are a great way to gain experience and learn whilst earning at the same time, so definitely apply to at least a few!
