Getting into optometry with access course
I’m keen into studying optometry and this year I’ll be studying in college at the age of 22 access in science I’m familiar with the topics.
I’m looking into studying at university of Hertfordshire next year and I’m aware of the entry requirements for access they accept it and I need to get a distinction in maths and biology but they also require additional requirements which are GCSEs English and maths , maths I passed with a 4/C grade and English I’m taking it this year along side the access aiming for a 7 , will they look into my maths.

Unfortunately it seem that Hertfordshire need a 5 in maths, English and science: "GCSE: 5 GCSEs at grade 5/B or above including 5/B in English Language, Mathematics and Science."
With GCSE's, its quite tricky, because they cannot accept someone with anything lower as it goes against the GOC requirements for what has been approved for that institution and they would be risking their license. If you did apply, they would reject based on the fact you did not meet their GCSE requirements. There are other universities who may accept lower such as a 4 or a something equivalent to a C. But having looked at majority of them they need a 5/B in math and 4/C in English. Hope that helps
