UCAT Score

Just sat my ucat and got 2780 Band 2. Im predicted A*A*A(*) --> not sure if the last one will be an A*, in Bio, Chem and Psychology. I have GCSE Grades of 999888777, with the 9's in Biology, Chemistry and English Literature, 8's in Physics, Maths and English Lang and the 7's in Computer science, spanish and Art. Where should I apply for Dentistry in the UK considering my stats. I wanted to apply to Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester and KCL but unsure if theres any point in applying to kings and manchester considering my ucat and gcse's for kings. No clue if my UCAT score is considered good or bad as I was expecting a score a lot higher, so having a tough time picking what uni's to apply to. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Did you use medify or MedEntry and what were your mock scores like?

I used both but mostly medentry and my mock scores at the beginning were around 2800-2900 and the last week and a bit i was getting 3000+ consistently. I did mock C and D on the official site and got 3050 on mock C and 3220 on Mock D. No clue what happened tbh, the AR in the real thing i just found to be so much harder than the other websites, but might have been just nerves to be honest. Hope your exam goes well!!!

Thank! I’ve been getting 2800 on MedEntry but only 2500 medify so am a bit confused. I have my exam in a week. Do you have any tips?

Have you considered Dundee university in Scotland? Currently the best uni in the UK for dentistry but they have been known to take slightly lower grades/ucat score!

Or Aberdeen. They only consider the ucat score as 20% of your application and your grades only weight 30%. The other 50% of the decision is all based off your interview. Always a good insurance?!

I had my UCAT score as 2570 band 3 in SJT. Very depressed . Predicted as AAA.Any chance I could apply for any medical school.

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. Just wanted to come in to note that due to having quite a small Dental School our dentistry course is graduate entry only (effectively for those who have done a medical science degree and want to go into dentistry). Not sure if this is suitable for op considering the grades mentioned, but wishing you all the best in finding the right options for Dentistry for you!

It's good enough for most universities, given that your personal statement is also good. It's definitely worth applying to kings, especially if you have widening access opportunities. But keep an option or two safe just in case. After that, it's all down to your interview performance.
