Hey I have just recieved my gcse results and I got a 7 in maths, back in my year 10 mocks I barely scraped a grade 3

You absolutely have enough time to improve your grade massively you just need to be willing to put in lots of effort which I’m sure you are capable of

Relax at the moment, just make sure you have some rest before school starts as you honestly do not need to be doing that much revision at this stage.

I used the maths genie website which you have definitely heard of before, but probably not in the way that I used it.

If you go to the scheme of learning section of the website you’ll find a list of loads of stages. Each stage has a list of topics to watch videos on and a few tests at the end of it. for the grade your working at right now it will be close to the bottom but to diagnose that you should start with the easiest stage test and work your way up until you fail it. Then you should watch the videos for the topics that made you fail and once done you should do the next test, if you fail carry on studying and if you pass move on to the next stage.

This literally will build up your knowledge from the easy stuff to the very hard stuff. you will be able to asses how much that is building up using past papers… be careful though not to rinse them too much as you will need them closer to your actual exams. However, try to aim for a grade five in your year 11 mocks but don’t be out off if you get a grade 4.

Once you’re at that level you’ll be able to carry on moving up the stages and by your real exams you will have gained enough knowledge to get a grade 7. But don’t keep on only watching videos, make sure that you are doing lots of practice questions so that you keep on practicing how to apply the methods and eventually it will be super easy.

Also… you need to make sure that you keep up with the new things you are learning in class and completing all of the homework you are set.
