Secondary PGCE in English.

Hi guys. I’m a recent Psychology graduate. I’ve been offered a place to do a PGCE in Secondary English.
By the end of this course, I’ll have QTS status. My only concern is that my chances of employability may be low because I don’t have an English degree. However, I did do English Literature at A-levels and got an A.
Do you think I’ll be able to secure a job after completing my PGCE??

The fact that you have been accepted onto a teacher training course for English, suggests you meet criteria for it. Make sure you read around your subject and develop your subject knowledge (which you will do by training to teach it) and then it will be a case of talking to perspective schools later int the year and showing them your skills. Many teachers do not teach their specialism - it's about being an enthusiastic, passionate teacher and knowing your stuff.
