resit student

does anyone have any advice for managing the year as a resit student? i’m taking a gap year and doing my alevels again in a private centre. does anyone have any experiences? any advice? i am going to get a part-time job to keep myself sane LOL cus staying at home the whole time and revising would be horrible. ALSO, would someone be kind enough to list all the russell group unis that accept retake students? thank you. finally, if anyone has resat before, how was it and how much did you improve by?

See the following regarding resit policies for medical degrees:
https://www.themedicportal.com/application-guide/choosing-a-medical-school/medical-school-a-level-resit-policies/
As far as I know, whether your degree is from a Russell Group or not doesn't matter for medicine (it's hard enough to just get onto a degree course and getting placement).

Do also consider foundation courses for medicine if you're eligible:

Make sure you revise and study your A Levels correctly. Your aim should be to revise for the highest marks you can get as opposed to for the understanding.
You can often find useful tips from people who scored high marks in the relevant subjects that you're studying. As I don't know what your exact A Levels you are doing, I am listing the videos that I can find for biology and chemistry from the first page of Google (there are more):

I would also target weak areas or areas where you get the least marks.

Then this post is in the wrong part of the forum.

If you want advice on specific subjects and degrees, you would have to mention what they are.
