Student finance England

Hi there,
I have been living in the UK since 2019 and currently hold indefinite leave to remain. I have applied for student finance for academic year 2024/2025. To prove my identity i have provided sfe with my current BRP but when it comes to the residency requirement of 3 years I don't have my old BRP because i had to send it back to Home office after i received my indefinite leave to remain. I have sent my expired passport with vignette that proves that i have entered the UK in 2019.
When I called sfe the lady told me that my application might be rejected because my passport is expired. I didn't get a new passport because i have no plans to travel.
Can anyone help me with please! Im so lost 🥺

Thanks for confirming.

If the expired passport has the vignette we can still use this.

Thanks,
Ross

I just found a letter which i was issued in 2018
from home with has the reason of receiving the status and the date of issue-and date of expiration i.e 17 july 2023.
I made my application for indefinite leave to remain on 4th july 2023 and received indefinite leave to remain on 03 October 2023 within 91 days.

. Home office doesn’t give any physical letter of confirmation for this as I applied online. I can provide you with the print of email which shows the confirmation of submission of application. Is this along with vignette stamp enough to get through immigration section of sfe? Thanks

Hi there,

If you have proof of in-time applications for the Home Office you can always send them over to us, and any previous confirmation emails of your new status.

The more evidence you have for us, the easier it is.

Thanks,
Ross
